Finally a Fontwell meeting in the glorious sunshine. It really does not get better than that. The Raceday Tour went well and then it was only myself and Chris Copsey doing the Tipping Forum as we could not find Ian Bartlett!!
During the Forum I highlighted the chances of Latin America (let us all down again!) and Whistlejacquet (won quite cosily) in the first. In race two I went for Baren De Doc who decided to try to take the open ditch with him and parted company early on! I focused on Mayberry (won) and Astolibra (2nd) in race 3 (and FormChecker had the third Lucky Score) so another grand tipping effort. Myself and Chris could not fathom out race four and joked that the outsider of the quartet, Siouxme, could win it. She only went and did that!!! In race five I highlighted the chances of Hampton court who was just pipped into second by Days of Pleasure who was a ratings DARK HORSE. For Race 6 I was more than happy to 'big-up' Space Cowboy and No Greater Love but the more I talked about Bid Art the more I liked his chances and so changed my mind to go for that and Space. Well, Bid Art won and Space Cowboy came second and just to ass to it No Greater Love came third. Iwent home before the bumper but wish I'd have stayed as my solid choice Madame Jasmine won at 5/1.
Again, thanks to Graham for driving us to the Fontwell Park, Chris for being a fantastic course presenter and Mandy for all the total and undying support.
I'll be back there on April 30th for an evening meet where we are sponsoring a race in memory of a special man:
The FormChecker Pepe Rufino Memorial Handicap Hurdle will be race 2 on the card.
I hope to see some of you there.
Peace.
