Cheltenham reflections

Posted on Wednesday Mar 31 6:32:00 UTC 2010
I'm still coming down from my Cheltenham high after all the hard work paid off for myself and my clients! I'm gearing myself up for an assault on Aintree (not sure we'll do as well as Cheltenham but I'll give it a good shot for everyone!). I watched Barizan's race again yesterday in the Triumph and I still get excited watching him run his absolute heart out (if you can watch it - he does battle on once headed). I haven't picked up the courage to watch the Gold Cup as I'm not sure I want to see Kauto Star fall in that way again. It was bad enough first time. I could watch Chief Dan George's victory every day as he ran an absolute corker (and he was 33/1). I also need to re-watch Copper Bleu's victory in the Jewson as literally 5 minutes before the off and with the ground changing I was chatting to a mate on Facebook and told him '...with the ground changing Othermix has a really good chance.' 50/1 he was. Came second!! Actually I'm going to take a whole afternoon off after Aintree and watch all the Cheltenham races as I have them on DVD. Let me admit that I was shaking after Menorah's amazing victory, I cried along with Katie Walsh when she won on Poker De Sivola, I screamed my heart out for Barizan and I cried again after Pigeon Island who I've always loved won the Grand Annual. There said it. And I'm proud to have said it!!! It was my first Cheltenham as a tipster and it's gonna last in the memory forever. What a Festival and what a sport to be involved in
